Remembering the King of Thailand
14 October, 2016
The Free Burma Rangers expresses our sorrow at the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej at age 88.
He was a guiding hand of love, honor, freedom, democracy, justice and reconciliation. He was a man of the highest character and set an example for leaders all over the world to follow. He loved, led and served the people of Thailand and was loved as a father to the Thai people. His personal leadership, sacrificial living and fairness, helped to resolve conflicts and united the Thai people. By his personal actions and example, the King helped Thailand advance in all areas including; education, commerce, agriculture, manufacturing, art, music and human rights. He will be missed by all of us and people all over the world. I grew up in Thailand and he was the only King I knew and was always a great inspiration to me as child. I felt like he was always there- a caring, strong leader and one who loved all people.
When I heard to his passing tonight I felt an immediate and deep sadness and loss. It was like my own father had died.
I and the Free Burma Rangers join the Thai people and all those who loved him in mourning and respect.
We have lost a great King, a great leader, a great man, a great inspiration and a great example. We will do our best to live as he did, for the good of all.
We pray for the Belated King, the Royal family members and all Thai people.
God bless you, David Eubank
