The denial of citizenship to the Rohingya people is one of the foundation stones which underpins prejudice and violence against the Rohingya. However, instead of pressuring the government of Burma to change the Citizenship Law, the British government and the rest of the international community are going along with Burmese government delaying tactics which are designed to ensure the Rohingya never get citizenship.
He did it! Simon rode through the night, through the rain and the wind, for 200km, to raise money to campaign for human rights in Burma.
Simon said afterwards: "I absolutely loved The Dunwich Dynamo. A wonderful ride through the moonlit cornfields of Suffolk. There was great camaraderie from the other riders who helped me to go on 30 miles from the end when the rain came pouring down and the wind was blasting me. But I was driven on by the generosity of the sponsors and the knowledge that Burma Campaign UK will be using the money to fight for human rights."
